Support out troops – Gift military calling cards. The day, its Sunday one of those rare fine days when one gets to take a little breath before Monday comes knocking.
I’m lazy; I like being lazy if only the bills will stop coming. But today is Sunday, perfect opportunity to be lazy. I grab my TV remote and then start flipping the channels.
It’s election mood here in U.SA, I happen not to watch cartoons or any of those Disney channels or celebrity madness. So as you can guess, oh no! Not games – Football, basketball, and all that is saved on for a future date. Being old school, I head on to fox news and it’s John McCain on the screen. He is having a local campaign.
There is a little commotion, the camera swings on the opposite direction and brings to focus two young men. They both have placards on their hands, it reads…oops! The security details took hold of them and I just couldn’t finish, but part of it was saying – No more war – bring troops home…
Then moments later McCain smiles and says he will never be intimidated. He is not going to quite until America achieves victory in Iraq.
Support out troops – Gift military calling cards.
I decide to flip the channel, up two – ten channels and Viola, it’s CNN. Now this one catches my mood and I straighten up. There is nothing that fascinates and mystifies me as much as space talk.
Some days I look up to the heavens and the stars and wonder if ordinary men and women like the rest of us would ever be able to travel up there – to the stars, mars and beyond. Just imagine, you will be like next week I will be taking my vacation to mars? Aha, that is one of those crazy thoughts of mine.
What really caught my attention was that in the space station – The Toilet – Restroom – had quite and stopped working. But that is not all. They could not (the genius guys up there in the space station) fix the problem.
The C.N.N reporter was making fun of them. That these guys are able to make all kinds of sophisticated tools, weapons, computers, but when it comes to simple things like fixing a broken restroom, they could not.
I switch the channel again, this time its Barack Obama. He is taking questions from the audience. He is saying something along the line that when he is president, he will make sure that no wounded troop, veterans or any of our soldier is left on the street neglected by the country that they had devotedly served on the war front. Then another question about his relationship with his pastor…
Remember I’m lazy, but here I was busy switching my TV stations from one channel to another and wow! It’s history channel. There is a documentary going on. It’s about war. Hold on, yes about the Iraq war – something to do with treating our wounded soldiers. On the screen, I can see the helicopter landing, oh boy.
I switched off the TV. These are some of those scenes that I cannot stand. Did I tell you I’m a coward too! Yes I get easily scared by those frightening, painful agonizing cries from sick or wounded victims.
It’s such scenes that make me realize how much our troops are sacrificing for me, you and our nation so that the rest of us can lazy around in peace and prosperity.
Why not show your appreciation for what our troops are doing by buying cheap military calling cards and send it as a gift to your relatives, friends or just any other brave service men and women.
